Saint
Lawrence Haven |
St.Lawrence Haven continues to operate as a ministry of the Society of
St.
Vincent de Paul. We serve the poor of the downtown area, handing out, on
average, over 380 lunches per day, Monday through Friday. In addition,
the Haven delivers groceries to over 600 people each Saturday.
St. Lawrence Haven relies on the very generous donations of food,
primarily from Sanese Services, Kroger, Giant Eagle, and the Mid Ohio
Food Bank.
Individual St. Vincent de Paul conferences in the diocese donate over
5000 homemade sandwiches each month to supplement the food supply,
allowing us to service as many clients that need us as possible.
St. Lawrence Haven is funded 100% by individual and SVdP conference
donations, grants, and legacies to do this great work that Jesus calls
us to do for Him. Faithful volunteers keep us viable and operating.
If you wish to help answer Jesus' call to help all his people, call Tim
Hickey, St. Lawrence Haven manager at 614-228-0799 or Pat Summers, SVdP
secretary, at 614-221-3554.
All volunteer hours, financial donations, PineSol, ammonia, bleach,
paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags are gladly accepted.
